Pakistan as an Agricultural state
Pakistan is the 6th largest country in the world population. Its population is stretched in 881,913 km² of land area. Our country is an agricultural land.
Agricultural exports of
Pakistan:
Our major agricultural
exports are rice, cotton, fruits (mainly oranges and Mangoes). Vegetables,
vegetable oil, pulses, wheat, and other food items can also be added in small
amount. Our mother-land has Asia’s
largest camel market, second-largest apricot and ghee market, third- largest
cotton onion and milk market.
Top five agricultural
products of Pakistan:
To sum up the top five agricultural products are cotton, wheat, rice, sugarcane, fruits, and vegetables, in
addition to milk, beef, mutton, and eggs.
Why do we need to know
about this? Not just because we are the locals who are utilizing all the
resources available. But also our does and don’ts will affect it directly.
Steps to support the
agricultural system of Pakistan:
Common
farmers of the community should adopt the latest technology for harvesting. It
will reduce the wastage of water. It will be supported in saving 40 to 60% of
water and 30 – 60 % wastage of fertilizer.
Well
these are the individual efforts let’s see what are the steps taken by the
Government to support the system.
Punjab chief secretary Azam Suleman Khan Reviewed the
agriculture sector I which he focused on training of farmers, provision of
facilities , introducing new technology to enhance the production, good profit
o commodities and most exciting to establish an internship program on agri
graduates.
Provincial minister also attended the meeting where he
ensured the improvement in water management and proper regulation of fruit and
vegetable markets.
Special packages were
announced to be benefited by farmers as well as general public.
They also directed
the officers to conduct and areal spray to the locust affected areas of Rahim
Yar khan and Bahawalpur.
Internship program for agri- graduates:
Wasif Khursheed (agriculture secretary) also informed the current status
of the ongoing internship program. According to him, initially a program
started with a cost of Rs. 200 million with the agri graduates of 10 tehsil who
will be paid the stipend of Rs. 35000 per month.
After such a detailed work by
our higher authorities, I wish the system prevails in Black and White. The real
beneficiaries will get benefited and the country will grow with this so called
helping programs. And I pray that these progressive reports will be the real
figures prevailing in State.
